Over the last 8 years Jonas has been the frontman for the nationally recognized band Farewell June. With Farewell June Jonas traveled coast to coast and overseas with bands like PETRA, FFH, and shared the stage with Casting Crowns, Jars of Clay, Mercy Me, The Newsboys, Audio A., Mike W. Smith, Bethany Dillon, Jeremy Camp and more! Forging a name for himself as a full time minister of the Gospel was his absolute focus. Today, Jonas has embarked on a new chapter in his musical career by signing a contract as a solo recording artist! His debut solo album is set to be released in the Spring of 2010 and is already gaining momentum in the MTV world as well as the Christian Radio market.
“My focus is to create an atmosphere of worship within the confines of the concert venue. To instill HOPE in every person that takes time to come out to hear me. Whether I sing a song by James Taylor or I sing a worship song, my intent is the same... to be anointed. I am not interested in creating a buzz or selling cd's to become the next big thing. I am however compelled to reach out to as many people as I can to simply let them know that, whether they believe it or not, Jesus LOVES THEM. I feel like this simple message has been crushed by mainstream society to the point where it has become more of a cliche. Jesus is MORE THAN A CLICHE!” — Jonas
Jonas is married and has a 2 year old son. His wife Becky and son Hunter both accompany him on his travels. Becky is the background vocalist. Hunter is the welcomed distraction.
“Having Becky and Hunter on the road with me makes everything I do so much more focused. Keeping grounded is one of the hardest things to do in this industry. Having them by my side keeps me in the right place.” — Jonas
Jonas has been leading worship coast to coast for almost 10 years now! His passion starts with worship. He is well versed in contemporary worship as well as traditional worship. He is classically trained on the violin and uses those skills to best accommodate each service as to enhance what already exists. “My purpose is to become a part of what the local church is doing, not to become an outside distraction. I want Pastors and leaders to know that I want to couple with them in their efforts to minister to their people as to reinforce what they feel God is calling them to do.” — Jonas
Jonas also holds seminars on the "“music industry” and how to protect yourself from the many dangers within. Along with his manager Caleb, Jonas holds discussions on the basics of getting involved in the music industry, and the things that EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW to survive the industry.
“Overall, I want people to know that I am normal, accommodating, and excited to be apart of what God is doing in your community and or Church. I would love to be given the opportunity to ignite something fresh, to instill the sense of HOPE during such a scary time, and to simply be used where I can be used so that I can know that I have not labored for nothing.” — Jonas
