Lawrence "Moody" Scott, born in Hammond Louisiana 50 miles from the "Big Easy" New Orleans began his singing career at the early age of 10 performing with the Star Lights gospel singers Hammond, Louisiana after several successful years with the "Star Lights," Moody embarked on a solo career performing R&B, SOUL,& BLUES MUSIC for well over 40 years, captivating and thrilling audiences wherever he has performed. Moody has performed and shared the stage with "Aaron Neville and the Neville Brothers," "Buckwheat Zydeco," "Katie Webster," "Fenton Robinson," "Ohio Players," "Canned Heat," "John Lee Hooker Jr." "Earl Trick Bag King," "Alvin "Shine" Robinson" , "Chris Kenner," "Joe You Talk Too Much Jones," "Nappy Brown" and the "Dixie Cups" just to name a few of the artists Moody had the pleasure of appearing with throughout his career.

1963-1964 recorded for red bird/daisy records New York. A record label founded by the legendary songwriter hall of fame inductees Jerry Lieber & Mike Stoller . The song EVERYBODY COME CLAP YOUR HANDS. Written by Lieber & Stoller and songwriters Jeff Barry & Ellie Greenwhich also featured on the CD is a song co-written by Moody and Joe Jones, called THE MONKEY CLIMB. Moody left RED BIRD RECORDS, after enjoying strong regional success he signed with John Richbough producer and radio personality at WLAC Nashville Tenn. and radio broadcast hall of fame inductee, MOODY, co-wrote the classic song WE GOTTA BUST OUTTA the GHETTO, released on SOUND STAGE 7/MONUMENT RECORDS. the anti drug abuse song went national and received picks on various R&B, SOUL music formatted radio stations. songs that moody recorded on the Sound Stage 7 label are considered as classic . Moody's music today is a hot music collectors items from the historical 60s&70s music era. Soul Unlimited Records, Crowley, Louisiana, and Moody teamed up with the legendary Jay D Miller, noted for hits by artists: Lazy Lester, Slim Harpo and other outstanding southwest Louisiana artis t and recorded the song one mans happiness written by Moody. the song became a smash R&b song throughout the deep southern regions.
